Massive Thank You!!

Yesterday I posted about what a wonderful time I had in Las Vagas at the RNConvention. Well today I want to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone involved in organising the event. It was fabulous, but only because of the people who worked tirelessly to pull it all together and make sure we all had a great time.

So to Jimmy Thomas, Shannon, Jimmy’s mum TJ Mackay, all the wonderful people at InD’tale Magazine, all the volunteers and everyone else who gave up their time and energy to give us all a fantastic week, I would like to express all my gratitude and thanks, you are all absolutely amazing!! I had the most incredible time and I’m definitely looking forward to next year!!

Dragon in Las Vagas!

I’m back, and WOW did I have a great time in Las Vagas!!!!

I vent to attend the first ever Romance Novel Convention and yes it was worth it! The hotel was lovely, the people super friendly and the convention itself was soooo much fun! I attended lots of classes and talks on promoting, and marketing, an area I’m not to good at! There were shows, parties and even a costume ball! I went as a dragon!

I met loads of new friends¬†and a couple of long term friends who I hadn’t actually met in person before!!

Richard is a member of the wonderful writing group I am privileged to be a member of The Alliance of World Builders, and I’ve known him for around two and a half years now. He and his lovely wife Susan came to attend the book fair on the Saturday and to meet me!

One of the big highlights of the convention was the costume ball. I had never been to a real costume ball before and boy were there some fabulous costumes!! The room had been decorated beautifully too, and standing at one end was an enormous open book. It stood taller than me and was propped open. Inside a scene had been crafted on the right hand page with such intricate detail, it was incredible. Check out the convention’s FB page for everyone’s photos of the convention, there are some really great and interesting pictures.

I had booked a table at the book fair and set out all my swag and a pile of crisp new copies of Vortex to sell. I haven’t sold direct to the public before, like this so I was a little nervous. I shouldn’t have worried because everyone was really kind and showed a lot of interest in my book.

I actually sold over half my pile of paperbacks and gave away loads of copies of the QR code to both Vortex and Wicked Game so all those who read ebooks can upload them easily.

On Sunday I went on a tour of The Strip with Richard and Susan and checked out all those amazing hotels! We spent hours walking around Ceasar’s Palace, it is mind blowing inside, and watched the dancing fountains outside The Bellagio. It would take weeks to see all the sights and we only had one day so I’m looking forward to visiting again, maybe for next years convention ūüėČ

This is INSIDE Ceasar's Palace!

Coming Very Soon!!

While we all sizzle away here in the UK, I’ve been stuck indoors editing and formatting Wicked Game. My wonderful editor has been working hard, sorting out my grammar and spelling disasters, and I’ve been updating my file and formatting it ready to submit to the printers.

Soooo! If everything goes to plan, I am hoping to publish the ebook version of  Wicked Game by 3rd August!!!

I’m very excited as you can imagine, I really wanted to get it published before I go to Las Vagas for the RNConvention! I am hoping to be able to publish the paper versions as soon as I return hopefully by the 18th August!

Then after all that excitement, I’m going to have to buckle down and get writing the final instalment, Shegal. We have now, thanks to Greg Barons my wonderful cover artist, got a working cover for Shegal. It’s a work in progress so it may yet change, but I do like it so maybe not! What do you think?

Kidstales Summer Reading Event

This year here in the UK we really are finally getting a summer!! And It’s a very hot one! Serves us all right for complaining so much in previous years about the weather!

But, with the risk of sounding old, I have to say it reminds me of summers when I was a kid. The summers always seemed hot and sunny back then. One thing I liked about my summers when I was young was having more free time to read. Although neither of my parents were great readers they instilled in us kids a respect and love of books.

So when I came across Kidstales Summer Reading Event on Facebook I wanted to get involved if I could. I think it’s very important to encourage children to read, especially these days when there are so many hi-tec distractions for them. Kidstales is providing a ¬†summer reading program challenge for children of all ages.¬†They are giving prizes for the reader’s achievements, offering give-aways and competitions and much more. So really a lot of fun to be had and enjoyed.

This week I’m thrilled and honoured to have been selected as their sponsor of the week. Candice Simpson who is masterminding the event has some of my bookmarks and a very cute small cat I sent her up for grabs. So If you’re signed up for the event make sure you take a look at what you need to do to try and win one of them. I also know she has a couple of unicorns and a couple of copies of my book Vortex to give as prizes as well, so make sure you keep reading!

Dragon in Spain

Well, it’s been a while since I last wrote a post for this poor neglected blog!! In that time I’ve had a lovely holiday in Spain with my family. We were all pretty done in from work and life pressures so we didn’t do much other than read, realax and swim in the pool.

IMG_1067

The area we visited was between Almeria and Murcia in the south of Spain. We stopped in a lovely villa around fifteen miles from the coast on the edge of a village called Bedar. Bedar is situated on the side of a mountain and the views from our villa were breathtaking!

IMG_1072

IMG_1065¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†Thankfully it wasn’t too hot because no of us do very hot! and there was a nice breeze blowing most of the week to stop us really overheating!

So after such a lovely relaxing time I’m back and will hopefully be giving this poor blog a lot more love from now on!

The RONE Awards 2012

I’m very excited at the moment! Vortex has been nominated for an award!!!! AND it’s a very big one too!! It’s The¬†RONE Awards¬†2012¬†. They are being run by Ind’tale Magazine in¬†connection¬†with the Romance Novel Centre and the winners will be announced at the RNConvention in Las Vagas in August!!! So saying I’m very excited is really a massive understatement!

In order to be nominated for this award you have to have¬†received a four star or higher review in Ind’tale’s¬†on-line¬†magazine. (Vortex got a glowing five star review in the magazine!!) and then you are put through to the second round which involves a public vote. The voting has been split up into sections over six weeks and Vortex is in the Paranormal section in week 4. Week 4 Started yesterday Friday 10th May and runs through till Thursday 17th May.

I would be thrilled and very grateful if you would consider voting for Vortex and I! If you don’t want to¬†register¬†on the site there is an option to send in a PDF ballot form with your vote on it. (the link is on the page). Both ways to vote can be found here.

This is a very prestigious award and I feel very honoured to have got this far and to be included in the nominations! If you haven’t visited Ind’tale magazine before I strongly¬†recommend¬†you take a look as it’s a great magazine full of useful and interesting articles and lots of great indie book reviews too. The same goes for the Romance Novel Centre especially if your looking for a stand out cover for your next book!

Tania Elizabeth – Guest Post

I was recently contacted by Tania Elizabeth¬†author of The Tier of Eternal Grace. Tania is doing a blog hop in aid of¬†Starlight Children’s Foundation¬†a charity¬†which supports terminally ill children and their families. There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer, I can’t imagine the heartache involved. So when Tania asked me if she could do a guest post I was more than pleased to help.

Hi J My name is Tania Elizabeth and besides being a mum of three beautiful children, I am the author of the trilogy The Tier of Eternal Grace. Book One The Moon Clearing was released earlier this year. Book Two The Mirrors Shadow will be released late September and Book Three will then follow in the early part of 2014.

The Tier of Eternal Grace is a captivating fantasy of magic and passion, wound into the truths of reality that will enchant readers with its depiction of the faerie realm, and the exploits of the faeries themselves. Book One of the series ‚ÄėThe Moon Clearing‚Äô is an immersive tale of mysticism and adventure, of spiritual and sensual intent that shall enrapture your every sense.

SUMMARY

I am a divine being of divine beauty and power.

My power lies in love, my strength I’ve gained from grace

I am grounded in thy truths and live purely of heart.

I’ve a gratitude for all life’s glory; never shall I be misplaced.

Though it comes to pass that I am rivaled

By the name of another and that of my own uncertainties,

dare I be denied my truths, my mind’s clear

By the name of another, I am now in jeopardy.

Beyond the boundary that separates the mundane and earthly planes from the divine lies Eterna Fadas, a place ruled by extraordinary beings, lithe and human-like in appearance, yet ethereal in their grace and beauty, and sensuous in nature.

“I have existed always! Where I began I do not know, for all I know is just as I am today!”

As Queen, Tatiana was thought to have lived a life of opulence, her faith and beliefs her endearing essence. Why then was it so, that beneath the picture of perfection laid torments and terrors even she dare not explain. Being She came with its prices paid. Being She came with a deal; a contract in which she was to relinquish herself to a rogue of unmerciful fury. Would this be the end of all she know? Would this be the end of her existence?

Like each and every one of us, my own journey has been one of trials and tribulations, of Love and of passions; and the dissolutions of it. Heartache, sorrows, smiles and laughter always seeming. Though, through the writing of this book and the words of Tatiana, I have found a peace within and learnt the true meaning of “I LOVE ME!”

From myself, may I now ask for your help!

STARLIGHT AUTHOR’S AID

I am asking for all’s assistance.

To give to others is to give to oneself.

Help us to raise awareness and funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, which supports terminally ill children and their families.

There are two ways in which people can help.
It is very simple.

By simply hosting, reviewing or interviewing myself/my book via a blog post, amazon, newspaper, radio, TV within a 21day window frame, between the dates of Friday 12th of April and Friday the 3rd of May. For every appearance, I will be donating $1 to the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

If any of you could help, I would be so grateful. If you could connect me with anyone else who would be happy to interview, do a short post or review on myself/my book, I would be ever so grateful more.

I am also asking for donations, even $1, which you may do direct via this link.‚Ä® http://starlightday2013.gofundraise.com.au/page/ElizabethT

You may also follow our progress on the Starlight Author’s Aid Facebook Page.‚Ä®http://www.facebook.com/StarlightAuthorsAid

We are looking at making this an annual event. This year it is based upon myself, though every year after, we will base it upon another upcoming author.‚Ä®So please share and pass this along to all. Let’s make this a huge affair and raise much needed funds for a very worthy cause.

My heartfelt thanks to all.

Love, Blessings and Faerie Kisses always

Tania Elizabeth xo
